He laughs softly, looking at her with immense fondness. She's not Charley, she's nothing like Charley, but it occurs to him that if he were offered a chance to pick anyone as a second sibling, he'd choose Lydia in a heartbeat.

"Well. They're both good for numbing trauma. I find that drugs are especially good for making everything bearable, but on the other hand, I've learned that they also come with a certain... candidness on my part.
