Of course there are likely those who saw him in that most abhorrent uniform, if others were in training or aiding in the training that is. Mmm, yes it will be troublesome having to rely on these creatures in this manner, but there's naught to be done about it. These psychic types...they do sound useful, I must admit. Most assuredly they are worth further study.

I'd say the typing acts more like a complicated elemental table, specific to Pokemon and not necessarily the composition of the universe.

Taxonomic genera is an entirely separate topic - there are canines and birds that fall under a wide variety of types, as well as Pokemon that wouldn't fit in a traditional organic taxonomy. Steel types especially tend to be non-organic or just weird in the application thereof.

[This all sounds like bullshit, but you know what? Fine. He'll...run with it.]

From whence I hail, there are all manner of fauna with great variance in their taxonomy, aetherial composition, and alignment. Though they still followed basic universal principles and—to put it crudely—sense. That is, unless they were an arcane beast of some sort, designed by and brought to life through magic—but even then they followed still a sort of logic which all aetherial comprised beings must oblige. [He waves dismissively with a sigh.] But I suppose it is merely a matter of adapting to this world's rules of reality, and what not, eh?

I don't doubt we'll find a lot of Pokemon who are directly analogous to fauna from your world. There's a lot that match my world's.

Allegedly, all Pokemon were made by a creator god - also a Pokemon, of course - so you could make a pretty solid argument that they're all arcane beasts, but they still exist in very physical ways.

If you ever want a hand looking into all of that bullshit some more, I've been doing a lot of research into it. It's useful to know if you want to do any kind of battling, since different types have strengths and weaknesses against other types. Sometimes they can be a bit... obscure.

Ah! So my theory does hold some measure of water. I know well the mark of Creation when I see it. Admittedly I am intrigued by this god-figure. Arcane beasts can prove to be as physical and life-like as you or I, should the wielder of such magics prove themselves particularly skillful and powerful. And, if one is to believe a god was behind their conception, then its only reasonable that most would not see the lie to their existence.

Sounds like a plan, then. When you're done training - either properly finished or just done for the day, I'm fine with either - I'll show you some of the things your... Yamask, was it? Can do. Ghosts are pretty notorious for having some horrifying powers. There's one attack called Curse that makes your Pokemon hurt itself quite severely, but causes your opponent to keep taking spectral damage until they pass out.

I'm pretty sure there's some mythology behind Yamask as well, I was hoping to get one myself later on. I'll get back to you on that.

'Twould seem I have plans for the 'morrow, but should you find your schedule empty thereafter, mayhap we will find the time for such convening. The wicked nature of these ghosts does intrigue, I confess, and if they truly have such ample use—horrifying or no—I will take full advantage of it.

Tell me, are these Yamask rare? It seems that even those with an affinity for their typing have little experience with them.

According to what I've read on them, they're not a native Pokemon to Johto or Kanto, so they're extremely rare. There's rumours of them being found in the Ruins of Alph - a set of ancient ruins located quite close to Violet City, it's about a five-day hike from Goldenrod - but they're allegedly quite rare.

[Cupping his chin, lost in thought, he nods just enough to give the impression he's listening. The planning for a meet up is of no dire consequence, and once he's given enough free time, it'll be no matter.

More over, he's left to contemplate the Yamask left in his care. Primarily because of its likeness to him and his, but so too is it rare. Whoever chose that particular beast for him certainly knew more than he'd like. Or it was entirely random chance, and even as an Ascian, beings known for sowing the seeds of chaos, he's well aware that chaos is not much more than carefully cultivated and planned mayhem.

My secondary was a Houndoom, a Fire-Dark dog, so not particularly, but my first was Isis. [And he pauses to give his Natu a rub behind one eye, making her squint happily.] A Psychic type, which means she's able to understand me without speech, small enough to stay out of her ball and on my person without causing a substantial fuss, and able to project my thoughts into other people's minds. While she's not as narratively fitting to me as other Pokemon I've since sought out, she was rather unusually appropriate in letting me work around a poorly compensated disability here.

[He nods at the answer. The Murkrow is only fitting so much as it's a bird, and well...his association with a certain shoebill, though he admits that might be a stretch considering the differences there of. But the Yamask...that is proving rather uncanny indeed.]

I see... [His expression looks contemplative as he murmurs more to himself, but his lips are still rather readable, if Isis has any issue in picking up the sound.] Perhaps I was not mistaken, then...

Nothing so much as I'd like to warn you to watch who you're flashing that condescending tone at. You're going to get yourself in trouble, or at the very least scorned by most of the current Rocket team if you don't start sounding like less of a tool. No one likes being patronised.
