Video;

[When the feed cuts on, it's later in the evening, well after the first day of Rocket training, and thus Emet-Selch is not wearing his uniform while in his little dormitory. What he is wearing is far more extravagant. Yes, he took the time to put that thing back on, he wasn't about to suffer the alternative longer than what was necessary. Of course there are likely those who saw him in that most abhorrent uniform, if others were in training or aiding in the training that is. All of which he's been entirely quick in mastering, almost as if he's already...mastered such trivial skills. He has, and plus some.

Regardless, that's not what this is about. Well, it kinda is, actually.]

Good evening, I am Solus zos Galvus—your newest recruit to this fine organization of unscrupulous villains. Certainly prompt with the training, aren't they? That sort of rigid discipline I can most certainly respect—after all, with poor foundation, you cannot expect aught else but for everything to come crumbling down around you.

[He settles back in his seat, resting his elbow on the desk he's clearly sitting at, cupping his cheek with the palm of his hand as he lazily gazes into the feed.]

Regardless, such training is wasted on one such as I, but I understand rules are rules, and even I am no exception. [There's the slightest edge of annoyance to his tone, but it disappears as he continues.] Regardless, 'twould do us well to know each other properly, wouldn't you agree? So come, introduce yourselves to me. For I will know each and every one of you, as well as what rank you hold—what skill sets you have, and so forth.

If I am to familiarize myself with this team, to know which holes my expertise should rightly fill, then I must take your measure.

Uhhhhh...

[Squinting....]

You seem pretty confident in that... [Suspicious...]

...Since when was anything thousands of years old 'mortal' though?

Like...You can't really call that 'mortal' nature. Nature of a world with crummy immortals on it, sure, but it's not like the people and animals asked for things like that to poke their noses in.

As...pawns...sure... [She raises a brow.]

Look, it's sort of like if something just showed up and started using all of the people around like the pieces on a chessboard. Whether it's tricking them, or possessing them outright, that's still...not their fault, that's the fault of the things that decided 'Hey! Let's have a big fight using these things as our tools!'

Everyone else is kind of stuck trying not to get killed in the process, since...well, those big 'fiend' gods are still pretty strong!

Exactly! [Whether she's realized he considers trickery Their Fault or not, she's not addressing it. Even if she does, she's probably not surprised though- he seems like the type.]

PHEW! [From WHENCE though!] Rough question! [Very rough.] I mean...that's before humans really existed!

...And for that matter it's kind of a 'my world' problem, after that... I don't know what things are like where you're from, but I mean...world differences are going to mean some things just don't line up when we're talking about this stuff in the end.

Hey, hard agree there with the 'gods'! [Ahahaha!]

And I mean at the end of the day if you're a few thousand years old you've probably seen more than me, so. Can't exactly argue that you'd know more about reality in your zone of things than I ever will about mine...

[Ahahahaaa...] I like to think of it less as broken and more 'unique' myself; at the very least, it's better than where I came from, in a number of ways...

[Ah, well.] That's obviously not going to be something everyone agrees with on, though. But at the end of the day, calling one world as far removed from another 'broken' because of all the stuff going on feels kinda like saying an orange is broken because it's not an apple. And sure, both fruits can definitely be bruised, but the important bit is they're different fruits!

[Whistling...] Hooo, I wonder if you're older than Spinel...

[As it is. She just...laughs.] Maybe you just haven't found the purpose of this one yet then~! But if you ask me, after being here for a year, I don't think this one's as rotten as the outside makes it seem~ [Wink~]

But...like I said, that's not going to be something everyone ever agrees on- and I mean, you've barely been here a few days! It's not like you've seen everything the place has to offer...Heck, I sure haven't after a whole year...

Heheee~! That's the spirit then! [Honestly it's better than many could hope for in her opinion.]

On a 'work' related note, it's pretty easy to get by without actually doing anything illegal by the way. Everyone has to turn in a pokemon every two weeks after training is over, but they don't ask where or how you got them- catching something in the wild the same way everyone else does, and turning those in is just as good...and honestly, way less trouble.

Means you get to travel more too~!

[SIR,

SIR!
]

Mnnh...fair enough. Unfortunately most travel here is...kind of by foot until you synch your ID with a teleport... [She pauses, crossing her arms.] Ultimately the only way to get anywhere faster- at least right out of the gates- is to have a pokemon that you can ride. And I mean ride, not fly! Unless you take down either Falkner or Erika's gyms.

Falkner's the better choice, he's closer. Either way uh...that's about your best shot until you can teleport...

Which ones do you have?

Some of them get pretty big when they evolve...a lot bigger too. So that's important to keep in mind.

Well....

[She's. SEEN Cofagrigus so.] On the...one hand, the first one actually does get way bigger, but on the other...

...It's definitely not something you'd ride. Hnnrrrnnn, you'll be here for about a week thanks to 'training', so... [There's the sound of some clicking- she seems to be doing something on the pokegear itself.] Hmm. I think the only thing that really grows to 'riding' size within the city is the lillipup line. Uh, their final stage, 'Stoutland'? It's pretty much a massive dog. Still that's not really ideal...

[Oh. Something seems to occur to her however.] Oh...

Oh, but...when I think about it, I think Connie got her bike to run at 'pokemon' speed using a rotom!

Mn! Here, I'll send a picture...mine is back at the dorm but they're all over Goldenrod!

They love technology- but they're also tricky by nature, so you have to be careful to set your boundaries with them! When you can come to an agreement though, they can bring out the best in anything they inhabit! [Carly cheers as she happily sends a picture of a standard rotom along, the little ghost's wide impish grin firmly in place.]

I'd have to ask how Connie got it put together, but Goldenrod sells bikes for pretty cheap- so if you get what you need to put the technology on it, you'd have your ride! ...Provided you have a cooperative rotom at least.

Fair enough- bikes uh...they're not exactly the most comfortable ride...

[And considering the contemplative look, she suspects (perhaps correctly) that Solus has 'better' ideas. Time will tell how well that works, but hey, Dirk had a robot-lapras so...]

Good luck- you can probably find more info on stuff if you search for it using the pokegear, so there's bound to be something!

[There's nothing but a knowing nod. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean it's the best thing after all.

But with a grin, Carly gives a final thumbs up.
] Great~!

You'll do great then, I know it~!

wraps with a neat lil bow,
