RED ALERT [text]

Guys, I hate to bring down the mood, but we have a HUGE problem. Riku—you know, one of the very first trainers to arrive here, Aurora Leaguer, exceptionally powerful—that Riku apparently knows all about our operations in the Radio Tower. He's been keeping quiet about it, but with our increased activity and the organization of the Pokémon Guardian Corps there's a serious possibility he'll be conducting a raid in the future. He even mentioned it in a conversation with me, here's the proof.

[A video file containing a private conversation between Riku and Connie is attached.]

Everybody there, please please please PLEASE be careful (looking at you, Tio Steven) and see if you can't persuade the admins to move house or at least set up some countermeasures. This is bad news.

That's actually a fantastic idea. Having someone ready to take the fall in a worst-case situation to distract from other people escaping.

[Tyler has no real-world experience in these matters, is it obvious?]

If you need some stronger Pokemon to make it more convincing, we could lend you some for the event.

I strongly suggest don't try it in the base gym or you'll probably have to pay damages.
zenryokubatankyu: my name is not "Wierd Dick Man ", so please stop writeing it on my tent. (She's touring the facilities)

Jeez, I'm taking it seriously...

Actually, I think it's kind of cute when the newbies start leaning into the whole bad guy thing.
zenryokubatankyu: Although listed as a baby cowboy hat it is actually more the size for a 5-6 year old child. Needlessly to say, I returned it for a refund. (I don't wanna panic)

...Eh?! I thought it was badass...I just sounded that sad?
Ugh.
I don't know the line with this...

And I don't blame you, really, even if I'd call the man more of a JRPG-type bad guy myself.

[personal profile] fingersandteeth 2020-08-09 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey. It's okay, Oso. It really is. I mean yeah, you were a little over-the-top there, but we're *bad guys*. Chewing scenery is part of the whole schtick. Just-- don't feel like you have to force it or anything, okay? The best bad guy speeches come from the heart, because you really feel them--not because you're trying to sound like some kind of badass toku villain.
zenryokubatankyu: i am notr, nor ever have been, a nerd, and i have used some very powerful swear words on this website that would blow most nerds socks off (But I never got the chance)

[Booooooooossssss ;w;]

...Mmm. So I guess I should save it and accomplish more first. Right. I do wanna kick these guys asses, though...

I guess it really is all about backing things up before I put them out there.

Anyway, if we've got any ideas on how to deal with 'em, I'm all for it. It might be above my paygrade right now, but I want to do my best.
fingersandteeth: (inform)

[personal profile] fingersandteeth 2020-08-09 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, yeah. Empty threats are much less effective than shit you can actually *back up*.

Also, much as the admins appreciate the showy stuff and villainous grandstanding, what they like most of all are *results*. That's why you got such a big cash bonus on that hotel heist I took you on. Because even though we didn't do anything super showy, we still brought home a lot of loot and that's what they *really* want.

Remember. As fun as it is to cause mayhem and chaos, you don't want to do so much that it makes problems for the team.

That's actually how I went wrong with the first heist I masterminded on my own. Me, Tyler, and Lydia stole the local baseball team's shiny mascot two days before the start of the season and totally wrecked the stadium afterwards. It was showy and impressive, yeah, and initially the admins loved it--it was the heist that got me Private--but when the Granbulls put up a reward for their missing mascot, it put the whole city into a frenzy and made it a lot harder for the Team to operate. The happy admins were suddenly *super* pissed off at the three of us and Carly and Connie had to save our asses by arranging a faked 'rescue' of the mascot by Connie before everyone in Goldenrod calmed the hell down. It took mugging something like twenty to thirty people in one night for the admins to finally forgive me.

Anyway. If you do want to kick their asses, I think Tyler's organizing something and it definitely looks like something where he'll take anyone who's willing. Scroll up and talk to him. Hell, maybe see if 'Solus' is going to need a pilot for his JRPG bullshit armor. You've got a lot of options here.
zenryokubatankyu: i squint real hard while attempting to contemplate a math problem designed for children until my entire dumb ass face turns navy blue (Where do I go?)

[personal profile] zenryokubatankyu 2020-08-09 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Makes sense. I was really proud of that. Sure, it wasn't really grandstand-y, but I like results, too. And money. But I mostly just want to make a good (bad?) impact. And I know I definitely can't boast to the point where I get noticed noticed...externally, not internally. Internally I wanna be noticed! Externally, not at all. I don't want Karamatsu to find out about this...

Holy crap. That does sound like a mess. I don't wanna be put into that kind of jeopardy. At least it turned out okay-ish in the end, but when I organize a heist myself someday, I wanna do it right. Maybe something in the autumn...people always do scary events around Halloween, right? That's a good cover...

Tyler. Got it. I doubt I can pilot anything since I don't really know any pilot-ing stuff outside of videogames, but it's good to know my options are open.
zenryokubatankyu: now that i'm unemployed I can finally weave an intricate fan universe based on the chick fil a cows who are always holding the signs up (That could finally fix me)

Y'need any more help?
Knocking these kids down a peg or two sounds great.

Somehow I am not at all surprised you would miscalculate so poorly. If only such a lesson was truly learned, for here you are suggesting young Osomatsu offer to pilot that which he clearly would have no proper training for, nor know aught about. There is being helpful, and then there is being desperate to seem helpful.

Mayhap you will learn the difference betwixt the two eventually.

[personal profile] fingersandteeth 2020-08-09 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry. Suggesting he help you was *obviously* the wrong idea and I won't do it again.

[It's a good thing that Steven doesn't know about the heist you and Tyler failed to pull or he'd have a lot of words for you right now, starting with 'hypocrite.']
fingersandteeth: (earnest)

[personal profile] fingersandteeth 2020-08-09 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Autumn would be great, actually. We'll be doing my mine heist at the end of August and I don't know what everyone else has planned, but it'll *probably* be September by the time the PGC is organized enough to have their meeting, so that's Tyler's raid--but yeah, October or November, either one could be good. Check around to see if any else has something planned first, though. Because if they do, we'll want to make sure they don't overlap and that they're done in entirely different locations.

If you need any help organizing things, you can always ask me. I've got a lot of practice with putting heists together.

[personal profile] amaure 2020-08-09 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[To be fair, that one didn't get to start and we're still waiting for a response back, anyway...]

See that you do.

Suggesting someone unqualified assist in aught well beyond their ken is indeed foolish. While I will need to train any whom might wish to assist me, the best students will be those skilled with robotics and operating complex machinery already. Enthusiasm and a thirst for praise does not make one a competent nor promising pilot.

Not just anyone can wield the marvel that is magitek, Steven.

[personal profile] fingersandteeth 2020-08-09 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, what you really want are brainwashed summoners.]

Noted.
amaure: (298)

[personal profile] amaure 2020-08-09 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[Nah, they make the summoners, and then they kill them. Much more efficient and a lot less time consuming than brainwashing!]

Good.

Now, if you find anyone whom might be a better candidate, I will not mind them being sent my way, though I have my doubts you qualify to make such a distinction. Nevertheless, I do indeed need potential pilots, for I can little operate them all by my lonesome.
