[For those lucky enough to be wandering the hallways, Vanitas won't be hard to miss. Rather than change into his Team Rocket issued uniform like he'd been told, the young man is still wearing his outfit from home--helmet and all. He's got two tag-alongs in his exploration, one being his Phantump and the other his Woobat.

The first is drifting along quietly and obediently, pausing whenever Vanitas does to avoid running into it's master. The Woobat, however, is darting all over the place having the time of it's life now that he's out of his Pokeball!

Which of course just makes Vanitas hate it even more.]

You're pathetic. [The Woobat just squeaked in delight and Vanitas rolled his eyes behind his mask before veering down another hallway to see who or what he could find.]

If they think for themselves then they're more willing to do whatever they want whenever they want. Drones work better than beings that have a mind of their own.

Vanitas turned his head to glance over at his Pokemon, snorting softly.]

Then I guess it's never going to get any stronger. I don't want to be friends with it. They're going to fight for me, simple as that.

Then it's too bad for you that they aren't drones, isn't it? [She clasps her hands behind her back as she speaks, swaying playfully.] They have minds of their own, whether that's convenient or not. You should learn to work with that fact, rather than fruitlessly struggling against it.

[Rolling his eyes behind his mask, Vanitas started to move past the girl, already fed up with her.]

Or I can just dispose of them and start fresh if I have to. It wouldn't be the first time I've done that to get the things I want.

Maybe. But I doubt you'll ever get what you want, especially if you're going to be so inflexible. [She makes no attempt to stop him, but as he passes by, she leans into his personal space, her smile turning a bit mischievous.] You should really listen to my advice, as your precious senpai — no, as your superior! ♡

[Pausing, Vanitas leans closer to her since she decided to invade his space, smirking behind his mask.]

Or I could just care less what you have to say and do this stupid job my own way.

[Manaka listens to what he has to say — and then she laughs, the mirth in her tone too pure to be called mocking. Twirling as she moves, she pulls back to let him pass as he pleases.]

Aha, of course, of course! I wanted to show you some good will, but it's no concern of mine if you would rather do things the difficult way, Mr. Black Knight~

[Listen. He hasn't given her his name, so that's what she calls him now.]

[Yep, definitely only doing it to be polite. Just look at her smile! No way there are any ulterior motives here.]

Mm, that's true. But that also means we're colleagues, and it's better to get along with someone when you have to work together. A mutual benefit— You can understand that much, can't you?

[Vanitas is quiet, head still turned towards her while his Phantump and Woobat hover about nearby (said ghost holding the bat tightly to keep it from getting away), clearly mulling her words over.

After a moment he reaches up to remove his helmet, a lazy smirk on his face as he tucks his headpiece under his arm.]

I guess I can. It would be unfortunate to be stuck here without some people I can count on, wouldn't it?

Mm-hm, that's the same thing that I thought. [Though, more accurately, the thought had been that she needed tools. She doesn't doubt that he means something similar.] My name is Manaka Sajyou. And Mr. Black Knight's is—?

[Eyebrow lifting, Vanitas smirked a bit wider.]

That depends. Do you actually intend to listen to them, this time? [But she punctuates that question with a laugh, apparently not too fussed. Just as she had said, she only has so much concern for whether or not he takes her words to heart.] Ah, but if you really want to know... I suppose the most important thing for you to hear is that this world operates on a logic of its own. That can work to both your advantage and your detriment, depending on the circumstances, but either way, it'll be useless if you try to force it to conform to the rules you know.

I never lost all my powers but I've been to plenty of strange worlds, some even stranger than this.

[And this place lacked Xehanort which was a nice break, if he was going to be honest.]

This place is honestly kind of boring without the Unversed around, though.

Mm... That's not exactly what I meant. [Though she supposes that piece of information is valuable in its own way. Tilting her head, she gives him another glance over, clarifying as she looks up to his face again:] You didn't come here on purpose, did you?

[Vanitas tilts his head, looking mock thoughtful.]

Wish I could say I did but I didn't. Doesn't make much difference to me, though.
