Your Coworker Is Engaged Now
Good morning everyone~! [Carly is looking Very chipper on the Rocket Network.]
The holidays are just around the corner, but before we get excited about that, I wanted to get excited about something even better! Something even more lasting..! Though we should definitely get pretty excited about the holidays if you know what I'm saying hehehe...
Ahem. [Deep breath, and a big grin-]
I'm going to be getting married~!
[Carly shows the ring to the camera and everything.] I'm engaged!~ Wow!! I never thought this would happen at all~!
....
[Ahem.]
I'm inviting all of you by the way.

[He sounds honestly pleased for her, though, despite everything in his own personal life.]
I should introduce you to all the people that Jack and I were talking with about wedding things with, now that they won't be getting our custom. I've got a whole list of reputable wedding people.
no subject
We could use all the kickoff possible, we just started honestly.
no subject
Just give me a moment and I'll send you the list--and hell, for the ones we've already put in orders with, why don't I contact them and see if I can turn those orders over to you. That way you'll save money, since Jack's already paid them, and it'll function as his wedding present in absentia.
[Andddddd... list sent!]
no subject
She'll take this list.] Hmmm! I'll take a look at what you've put orders in on first in that case...just to make sure nothing ends up clashing with what Jolyne and I might be going for...
...though to be fair, there's not a lot we can't work with at this point I guess.

[He's wrong about that, okay, but in his defense, gay marriage wasn't legal all over the country yet in the brief period between escaping captivity and being scooped up by the llama god and Steven is intimately aware of having one's rights taken away, thanks Prop 8 for scarring him for life. He's much more positive about the possibility of being married now back home, even if he doubts it'll happen to him personally.]
I think with most of the ones we've paid already, ten weeks out is still enough time to make some last minute changes. And you'll be giving them extra time to work now, given that I doubt you're going to keep our date, which would have been February 15th. Or the venue, which I think we'd finally settled on as the garden of Jack's house--in winter, ugh, the things I did for love--anyway, it's in my notes, you can check it to be sure.

[Also, wait and watch as the proverbial hamster wheel inside Doppio's brain turns.]
... Wait, I'm invited?

It's a lucky girl, not guy.

You can do that here?
no subject
no subject
Well that's nice

Oh right you haven't met her huh. Ahem. Jolyne Cujoh! Steal from her and you won't have to worry about me finding out, because she'll throw you into a tree~!
And of course all of you are invited! This group faction is like, a weird second family you know~? Not a lot of us end up in Team Rocket so...
no subject
... Are you sure about that, though? We don't really know each other.
no subject
The fact is, the bunch of us who come here from different worlds are really transient- sure some of us stick around for years but...there's plenty who disappear within months too.
It feels important to share things like this with the people who got pulled in here. Especially with the ones who woke up in Team Rocket- there's...not really a lot of us compared to everyone else, and on top of that, it's a bit of a dicey situation, y'know? [she adjusts her glasses.] I mean...they kinda have you by the throat right out of the gates...

Doppio smiles.]
I guess that makes sense!
Is there a dress code? Nobody's ever invited me to a wedding before, but I know you're supposed to dress well.

[Scorpia looks absolutely delighted. One would think that she was the one who'd just gotten engaged from the enthusiasm.]
Oh gosh and she got you such a pretty ring too! Congratulations. When's the wedding? I definitely wouldn't miss it for anything! Are we supposed to bring gifts? I think weddings are supposed to have gifts! What's a good wedding gift? I've never gotten to go to a wedding before! This is so wonderful. Is there a dress code like Princess prom?
Re: video
OH hey, I don't think I've seen you before actually- Ahem. Nice to meet you~! I'm Carly, one of your Betas here..~
We haven't gotten a whole lot in the way of planning, so I'll be keeping all of you posted don't worry! Trust me I think there's at least going to be two or three holidays before the big day.
no subject
My name is Scorpia. I'm still pretty new so it's great to meet you! Oh, you were probably on a secret mission when I said hello, I bet. Action and intrigue and everything.
Are there a lot of holidays here?
[Scorpia sounds genuinely interested when she asks that question, bursting with curiosity.]

I just work off base these days. Mapping can be a pretty cushy job once you know how to work with it, and since it's only one spot, that means I can work on other things too~ ...Like wedding plans!
Mnh? ...Hmmm. I don't want to say there's one every month, but it can get pretty close to it depending on what counts f or you I guess...
no subject
We didn't really have holidays back in the Fright Zone, so I'll have to do a lot of catch up! What holidays happen here?

I'm glad you guys make each other so happy. Remember you can always let us know if you need more help with anything.

Ahhhh thank you~! I'll definitely be doing that, there's a lot to do now, wow..!

[He actually sounds pretty sincere, even if he can't fully get that condescending tone out of his speech.]
I am ever so grateful for the invitation, too. I do so love weddings. Have you a date already? Plans ironed out? Or is this still rather fresh, and such vibrant excitement has yet allowed for such preparations?
Re: video;
We haven't even really started making all the calls yet, we just know we're inviting more than just 'close family' here. I mean to be fair some of them could probably vanish before the day even happens...
Ooof though! Oof! There's so much to do even without thinking about it..! We need to look at some good venues here...
no subject
[He hums thoughtfully for a moment.]
All the same, pray do not hesitate to ask said friends and family for assistance with the organizing, even small scale events can be quite the burden on individuals attempting to carry it all upon their shoulders in their lonesome endeavor. More hands make less work, as they say, and you should enjoy this occasion--not grow loathsome of it.
no subject
Definitely not open invite though, that would just spell disaster...
I'll keep that in mind for sure though! It's still sort of early to start calling numbers, but I'll probably take some of you up on those offers once we really get going...like you said, overworking for something like this is just backwards.
