Gross.

...mmmm...

You know what, I've said this much so I may as well go a little farther in. My case was..pretty unique? Very 'good-bad luck' in having connections Something wanted. Something part of a reaaaaal ancient war.

The problem is basically that the deal I made ended in playing puppet to that thing. I had moments of being me! Just ah. Not a lot. I was a bit too much in disagreement with their goals I guess.

Moral of the story, don't make choices like that when you're falling to your death full of glass!

Who knows how it would go for the things in your world though...

That's about the attitude of it yep.

Well, if you can't remember it all going dark and numb, you're probably right? At the very least either way it's far from the worst place to end up...I mean even the criminal organization we got recruited to is 'dumbed down'!

There's free healthcare and benefits here!!! Healthcare!

You're probably fine then.

Hihhh, I guess I should have expected that...

Healthcare benefits basically mean that certain matters on our health get covered by the workplace with no trouble. An easy example, they'll fix up your teeth or get your glasses. A more complicated example would be that if you've say...broken an arm, or gotten sick, they'll cover whatever you need to get through it!

It's a bit of a sliding scale. Technically, where I lived, we had universal healthcare. But they wouldn't necessarily help you out with say...your teeth. Or, it wouldn't completely cover you for some things, so you'd have to find a way to cover the cost of what you needed for medication and such.

[A bit after she sends this, she sends Another message.]

Unrelated, but I just noticed my fiancé isn't trying to read over my shoulder anymore, and that's kinda concerning!

I...very. Very heavily apologize if she's somehow contacting you with something she's mad about. (She's probably mad about it. I'm trying to find where she's gone, normally I'd say near the space heater since she can't really handle the cold, but unfortunately fire type pokemon exst!)

Nope! You outgrow the first set, but the second set is all you get for the rest of your life. So you better take care of your new human ones~! Because that set of chompers is going to be IT.

Oh?

Hmm I feel like I've heard that word before... ...but I have a feeling 'Moirail' is culture specific here...if it sounds about right it's probably close to what we have going on though? I'd have to get a definition to really say.

Still that sounds like her... ...I guess I can't blame her, it really wasn't something I talked about that much...I've been getting better though you see!~

Especially since it's kinda gotten clear that uh...well. It's not the weirdest thing here. ...And...honestly, as tragic as it all was, I've got her now anyway~! So there's no need to cry over lost potential~

[AH YES....FORMER ROMANCES...]

Seriously though if she gets to be too much just say the word, I think I have something I can flush her out with.

Sadly yes...

Though to be fair, we do tend to bounce back from a lot of stuff. Durability might not be our thing, but endurance sure is!

I get the feeling she'd go for a few throats even without that, but maybe she's a bit stir crazy...well, we're going for a trip in a few days at least, so maybe that will help.

Mmmm. Quadrants...from the word and context, it sounds like you're saying there's four set types of 'romance' where you're from? If I think about it enough, there's definitely shades of romance and relationship in humans, but I'd be hardpressed to put any of that in boxes.

As it stands the answer's no, I've never even heard the term...

Is that like a dog, I wonder...

Ahm, anyway. ...Hmmm. I mean I guess that's part of our relationship, but definitely not all of it? There's definitely a lot of, ahe, physical intimacy without getting into details...

But the emotional aspect does sound right... ...Quick question, but if Moirails are pale, what's the 'red'? You said 'Red and Pale' operate through pity, so I'll probably be finding the better answer knowing more on those two at least.

They make 'bark' sounds.

And hmm! Well then.

Looks like you can toss those boxes goodbye because that definitely covers two big requirements of a healthy steady relationship. I mean there's definitely stuff you save for friends and not partners, and aaaabsolutely people who just want someone for the sex, but when it comes to a solid relationship most try for both yep...

Oh geeze okay.

First! Not what I was saying!! I was saying for some, the things you would tell one, would still never be told to your partner- girlfriend, boyfriend, spouse, whatever.

That wasn't meant to say friends are the same as those- of course they aren't! Humans just tend to trust the absolute closest friends with some details that...ehh, most would consider pretty simple. It was an offhand remark from the main point, frankly.

What WAS my point however is that most human beings? Don't have a partner for what you consider 'moirail' and a partner under 'matesprit'. Instead it's one, for Both.

My fiancee fills Both of those roles for me.

Not really? A relationship is ultimately a two way street, and one that both sides need to apply proper care and consideration on.

Oh- I wasn't saying they were. 'Secrets Buddies' that is. You were pretty clear about the matter of emotional needs.

But for some reason people often hear that and just dump EVERYTHING on a person! It's rude, and frankly, potentially even cruel. If you need therapy, you need to find a therapist. Or at least vent it at someone who isn't already taking everything, yeesh. Like you said though, not the point.

Honestly, it would be easier to say that relationships follow a spectrum between those points? Some lean more one way, others are a more complete blend of two. Humans are really varied! I'm sure someone out there has a loathing-based relationship working out somehow even.
