Well, it seems the lot of you got up to quite the party just before my arriVal.
Terrible timing, but I can't complain if this is hoW you conduct yourselVes on the regular.
As is obVious, I'm neW here. The name's Lanque Bombyx.
For those more experienced With this World and this organization, I'd appreciate WhateVer adVice you might haVe for someone in my position.
It isn't one I'm particularly used to, after all, but I'm adaptable and knoWn for being flexible—in many Ways.
Who knoWs, We might enjoy getting to knoW one another While We're at it.

As it stands, this place is even less dangerous than the 'norm'. I mean, you can't even threaten someone with a weapon, you just kind of...end up not being able to pick it up.
Also dying means you wake up at a Pokemon Center, so even if you manage that somehow, you're not staying that way...

Back on Alternia, you'd be lucky if you didn't trip right into getting culled for some reason or another.
Well, it's less so something I had to Worry about, or at least any arbitrary culling With being cloistered as I Was, but still. It's like this Whole World is grub-proofed.

I mean, not to say that arbitrary murder was exactly a common thing back home... (Uh, Yikes to Alternia wow) ...but it definitely happened. I definitely reported a few crime scenes.

On the one hand, yes, there's a whole pile of laws against murder, on the other, the military exists, the police of various countries exist, and perhaps most importantly, money and bias also exist!
And boy do things get messy when those last two get involved.
Ultimately there's a lot of ways to get away with murder depsite all the rulings, sad to say...I was probably almost brushed off that way come to think, yikes.

EVen those Who break the laW can get out of it eVen if they surViVe making it to their trial, if they put on a good enough shoW, anyWay.
The key is getting to the trial and not being culled outright instead.
Guess your World's as seedy as mine, but unWilling to admit it.
Guess I Wasn't really upfront about the Whole culling thing being legal, When it's more if you're from the right caste, then that decides the legality of it.
LoW bloods aren't alloWed to cull their superiors, but eVen attempting is suicide enough.

If you're saying the popular vote technically wins the day if you live long enough, then that's somehow actually more in favor of the wrongly accused than things are at home, and boy do I have no idea what to make of that!

But no that isn't exactly What I'm saying. Sometimes drones Will just be called on you, and then you better hope you can out run them or you're good as dead.
If you somehoW aren't culled on the spot and instead make it to trial, then you just haVe to make for a really entertaining shoW, because then you're Worth keeping around. It doesn't matter if you're guilty or not.
Look, the laW isn't really my area, I'm a Jade not a Teal, but I can tell you that there's Very rarely anyone Who surViVes being accused of anything, so I can't really back that this is at all in faVor of the accused.

If that made you some leVel of undead, then by Alternian standards you Would be a shadoWdropper, or a daystalker. See, not only is the sun dangerous for us, but that's When the undead roam, too.
I haVe to admit, that's pretty cool if that's What you are. We Jades haVe a lot of literature about a certain type of shadoWdropper called rainboW drinkers, but they're fictional compared to the actual undead We deal With.
As for castes, I don't knoW, they're rigid but it seems to do its job? Not that I exactly care for it, but it's Worked so far, and there's no changing it.
If that Was possible, it probably Would haVe been done a long time ago, but this hoW things haVe been for thousands of sWeeps.
You get used to it, or you don't. The key is figuring out hoW to play the system.

As far as the caste nonsense, it really is futile, because eVen if some reVolution Were to kick off With a good enough backing, the empress could just Wipe out almost all the resistence With her lusus' Whisper. So, it's all pretty pointless to eVen try.
That's Why loopholes are a Whole lot easier, but they're still far from easy.

You know what, I've said this much so I may as well go a little farther in. My case was..pretty unique? Very 'good-bad luck' in having connections Something wanted. Something part of a reaaaaal ancient war.
The problem is basically that the deal I made ended in playing puppet to that thing. I had moments of being me! Just ah. Not a lot. I was a bit too much in disagreement with their goals I guess.
Moral of the story, don't make choices like that when you're falling to your death full of glass!
Who knows how it would go for the things in your world though...

Hihhh, I guess I should have expected that...
Healthcare benefits basically mean that certain matters on our health get covered by the workplace with no trouble. An easy example, they'll fix up your teeth or get your glasses. A more complicated example would be that if you've say...broken an arm, or gotten sick, they'll cover whatever you need to get through it!
It's a bit of a sliding scale. Technically, where I lived, we had universal healthcare. But they wouldn't necessarily help you out with say...your teeth. Or, it wouldn't completely cover you for some things, so you'd have to find a way to cover the cost of what you needed for medication and such.

Though to be fair, we do tend to bounce back from a lot of stuff. Durability might not be our thing, but endurance sure is!

AnyWays, enough about her, at least in that context, but I also don't really Want to go deep into the details about quadrants, maybe some other time, but I Will giVe you the short and skinny of it.
There's red, pale, ashen, and black. The first tWo operate through pity, the other tWo through hate.
Moirails—pale—are pretty much partners Who balance each other out. They make up for What their partner lacks. For example, a Weaker but leVelheaded troll pairing up With a more chaotic and stronger one.
The leVel headed one helps keep the more chaotic troll in check through pacifying them in WhateVer Way Works for them, While the more dangerous troll sometimes takes on a more protectiVe role for the Weaker one.
Either Way, the tWo confide in and are emotionally responsible for each other.
